Information for Agents
Working with agents is an important part of our recruitment strategy. You are our in-country partners - and we want to make sure your partnership is fruitful. After all, our business is your business, so it is just good practice to look after each other's interests. There are currently 64 agents representing Bath Spa University throughout the world - and we monitor their performance regularly. We review our agents' network each year, and will say good-bye to those who do not produce students at the end of each year. New agents can apply at any time.
What Can You Expect from Bath Spa University?
As you know we are a UK state university, with all our courses validated and assessed in the usual strict way. We have a great track record in delivering undergraduate programmes, as well as interesting and innovative Masters' courses.
What You Can Expect From Us
We maintain the highest standards and quality of our education.
We will also:
- provide you with all promotional materials free of charge
- provide you with a Memorandum of Understanding, and then a formal agreement and Appointment Letter once you have delivered your first student application
- promise to process your applications quickly and efficiently
- update you on new course development
- visit you when we are in your town
- train your staff
- give presentations to your students
- pay a percentage of the tuition fee as commission payment to you
- assist you with your travel arrangements on your visits to Bath
What Do We Expect From You?
As an appointed representative of Bath Spa University we will have asked you to complete our questionnaire. We will also contact institutions you are already working with. When we are sure that we would like to work with you, we will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with you and once you send your first student application we will follow that with a formal agreement, and an appointment letter valid for one year.
We expect you to do the following:
- Advise us on market opportunities in your country
- Promote our courses in your market
- Advise applicants on our courses
- Support applicants throughout their application process
- Ensure that students have the right qualification for the course they want
- Ensure that students are well-prepared for their studies abroad
- Keep in touch with us regularly
- Update yourself on our website regularly
- Always represent us in a truthful and honest way
- Keep us updated on changes of staff and contact details
- Ensure that applicants have the required original documentation
- Send us students!
Main Selling Points of Bath Spa University
It is most important that you understand the nature of our institution and our courses. Please take some time to study our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In addition to those courses we run a range of courses just for international students. You must study our promotional literature closely to make sure you know what you are selling.

Our courses are highly rated by the QAA (Quality Assurance Agency) - find our reports here QAA Review reports - Bath Spa University. You can also find us in the league tables published by UK newspapers - sometimes called 'ranking' where we are usually listed as around 5th out of the 55 modern, teaching-led universities. Business and Management as a subject has ranked in the top 5 in the whole of the UK for student satisfaction since the National Student Survey was introduced. In 2008 Business and Management was ranked number 1 in the UK for student satisfaction.
Selling Point No 2: Location
Bath is England's only World Heritage city as designated by the United Nations, and a world-famous tourist attraction. It is small enough to be safe, and big enough to have an exciting metropolitan atmosphere. It suits students who are looking for an alternative to London - the culture without the chaos. Bath is only 90 minutes by train from London, and 10 minutes by train from Bristol.
Our campus is outstandingly beautiful, even by Bath standards. Courses are taught in Newton Park, an impressive country estate - ideal for students who are looking for inspiration.
