Bath Spa Amongst the Best for Teaching and Learning

22nd January 2010

Bath Spa University has been ranked 7th out of 104 UK universities for teaching and learning, according to a survey published in the Times Higher Education on 14 January.

The Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey is based on research undertaken by the market research agency Opinionpanel and reflects the views of over 11,000 full-time undergraduates. The survey covers a number of features of university life, ranging from teaching and learning to campus facilities.

The broad category of ‘teaching and learning’ covered high quality staff/lectures, helpful/interested staff, well-structured courses, good personal relationship with teaching staff, tuition in small groups and fair workload.

The Vice Chancellor commented: “This is an excellent result for the University and is testament to the professionalism and expertise of all staff, both academic and support.

“Our mission is to provide teaching of the highest quality, and I am delighted that our success in this has been evidenced by this national survey.”
