Course Structure and Content

The programme is organised around a series of modules, some are college-based while others enable you to learn within the workplace. The work based learning, which is central to the programme, is structured to give you time to reflect on your experiences and develop a coherent portfolio for use in future career development. The modular contents are mapped against elements of Level 4 of the NHS Knowledge and Skills framework and NVQ Level 4 - Care.

Students who successfully complete the Foundation Degree will be able to apply to progress (subject to interview) onto an associated 'top-up' degree course BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Management at the Newton Park campus.

Teaching Methods and Resources

The formal teaching tends to be organised on the same day each week to make it easier for students to combine work and study. The course will utilise a range of approaches to teaching and learning including; formal lectures, seminars, group activities, case studies and online activities. You will have the support of a personal tutor throughout your studies.
