Alan Marvell, Course Leader: Tourism Management
Alan is Course Leader for Tourism Management and a Senior Lecturer in Geography at Bath Spa University. Responsibilities include BSc (Hons) Tourism Management, Foundation Degree Tourism Management, DipHE Tourism Management and teaching on courses in the Department of Geography.
Alan is a Chartered Geographer (CGeog) and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He is a Teacher Consultant to the Geographical Association and Vice-Chair of the Post-16 and Higher Education Phase Committee. He is also a Fellow of the Tourism Society and Fellow of The Higher Education Academy.
Alan is on the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism Education and on the editorial advisory board of the journal Geography. He has assisted the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority and various exam boards in revising and producing qualifications relating to tourism and geography.
Alan was awarded a Promising Research Fellowship by Bath Spa University in 2005.
