Dr Alison Lee, Senior Lecturer: Psychology
I work in the Department of
Psychology, where I teach Biological Psychology, Abnormal Psychology and
Neuropsychology courses. I currently have one PhD student working on
Parkinson's disease projects and another working on healthy ageing.
My research interests are the neuropsychological changes that occur as a result
of Parkinson's disease. In particular, I am interested in changes in
visuospatial awareness in the disease, for example, how PD sufferers judge
distance and plan a path through rooms. I am currently involved in
collaborations with Dr Dorothy Robertson at Royal
United Hospital
and also with Professor Alice Cronin-Golomb of the Vision and Cognition
Laboratory in Boston
University.
I am a member of the Biopsychology Research Unit (BPU) in the School of Science,
Society and Management.
Apart from my PD work, I have an interest in motor disorders in general,
healthy ageing, perception-to-action, and the philosophy of consciousness.
