Dr Michael McBeth, Subject Leader: Sociology and Health Studies

I’ve been working at Bath Spa University since 2002 and am the Head of Quality Assurance and the Subject Leader for both Sociology and Health Studies.  I teach modules on health, education and welfare, social policy and sociological theories. I’m also interested in the development of the National Health Service and the role of the voluntary and community sector. I have done research on gender, sexuality and transport. I’ve worked for the NHS and served on the boards of a number of community organisations.  I live in Bristol and I enjoy cycling – so you might see me whizzing past on my bike.
