Mary Stoate, Course Leader: Health and Social Care Management

After a career in the NHS I joined Bath Spa in 2001 as a part time senior lecturer in health and social care management. Prior to joining BSU I was the Deputy to Principal in a School of Radiography and then a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Health, University of the West of England.

In addition to a range of clinical and teaching qualifications I studied with the Open University Business School up to Masters in Business Administration. I am a member of the Chartered Management Institute and the Institute for Learning.

Since joining the university I have developed the BSc Health and Social Care Management and am the course leader for the Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care Management. I am also the co-ordinator for the MSc Health Studies, Health Management route.

I currently also carry out work as a management and training consultant, mentor and trainer in several local healthcare trusts and other organisations in both the public and private sectors.
