Paulene Hudson, Course Leader: Health Studies

Since joining Bath Spa University in 2000 I have been responsible for coordinating the delivery of our Heath Studies programme and have enjoyed developing many of our health modules in collaboration with colleagues. I currently teach the two first year health studies modules: Exploring health and social care and Exploring childhood, as well as the year 3 disability module. Having studied social policy at Bath University (as a mature student) my present interests lie in policies related to inclusion, disability and childhood.

I was born and brought up in the Isle of Man and am lucky to be able to return there occasionally to carry out my research into the aspirations of young disabled people at the point of leaving school.

Because of my interest in disability issues, in both teaching and research and in my voluntary work, I agreed to act as disability coordinator for the School of Science, Society and Management. I am happy to liaise with students and staff in order that disabled students are supported in their studies here at Bath Spa.

For fun I am in the process of researching my family tree and I belong to a local pub quiz team.
