Cell and Microbiology Research Group
Introduction
The Cell and Microbiology Research Group draws together staff with a range of allied but distinct research interests. The foci of the research group are:
- Micro-organisms and their derivatives
- Anti-microbial properties of plants
- Plant cell and tissue structure and function, and
- Applications of this research, including consultancy.

Supporting the research work of academic staff are eight technicians with specialist expertise in microbiology, plus other technicians with a range of expertise such as chemical analysis, cell culture and immunology to call upon.
