Promising Researcher Fellowship
Dr Sam Lane has recently been awarded a Bath Spa Promising Researcher Fellowship. This award will help her undertake collaborative research with Cardiff University.

The aim of this research will be to investigate the presence of microbial toxins in domestic dust samples collected from 80 homes in South Wales. The study is an extension of a previous study, which investigated whether mould eradication from homes can improve symptoms of asthma. Samples collected both prior to, and following mould removal treatment will be analysed, in order to measure their levels of β-glucans. It is then proposed to explore correlations between the levels of β-glucans and symptoms of asthma.
